ruce S. Deming is an experienced trial and business lawyer, with over 26 years of civil and criminal litigation experience. Beginning his career as a federal prosecutor in 1983, he successfully prosecuted multi-national oil companies for violation of complex price regulations on behalf of the U.S. Government. In 1986, Bruce joined the D.C. law firm of Van Ness, Feldman, Sutcliffe & Curtis, where he engaged in state and federal court litigation and navigated state and federal regulatory requirements for a diverse group of U.S. and international clients.
Since 1994, Bruce has served both as an in house and outsourced general counsel to a number of companies in the communications, energy and technology sectors. Today he focuses on civil business litigation, personal injury, EEOC / employment disputes, and a select number of criminal matters. He is licensed to practice in the District of Columbia and Virginia in all federal and state courts.
In addition to his main litigation practice, Bruce has performed extensive pro bono work on behalf of U.S. veterans before Federal Courts and the U.S. Congress, including representation of the Vietnam Veterans of America. His efforts have produced precedent-setting court decisions and significant legislative enactments on behalf of all veterans.
Aside from his legal work, Bruce is an avid mountaineer, having summited high peaks in the Andes, the Alps, Alaska, and the Himalayas. He is also a competitive mountain biker, specializing in 24 hour solo endurance events.
