Mr. Hughes possesses extensive trial experience and expertise representing both the injured in personal injury litigation and insurance carriers as defense counsel.

G eorge J. Hughes received his undergraduate degree at Catholic
University, where he served as class president for three years,
lettered in basketball and tennis and was a valedictory candidate. He
received his JD degree from Georgetown University Law Center in 1960,
where he won both the Beaudry Cup, the Moot Court competition for
freshmen, the Public Law Argument Competition, and the Moot Court
competition for upperclassmen.
Following graduation from
Georgetown Mr. Hughes joined the law firm of Pilzer, Jacobs and
Schlosberg, where he engaged in a general civil and criminal trial
practice. He opened his own law firm several years later where he has
continuously engaged in an active and varied civil trial practice,
primarily before the Federal and State courts of the District of
Columbia and Maryland.
Mr. Hughes possesses extensive trial

injury litigation and insurance carriers as defense counsel. Other
areas of his practice include: partnership and contract dispute
resolution and litigation; divorce; probate administration and
litigation; professional malpractice dispute resolution and litigation;
litigation against government entities; litigation of discrimination
disputes and appellate advocacy.
